The Shannon Region of Ireland
is the area primarily around the estuary of the Shannon River which is the largest river in the British Isles, and includes the counties of Clare and Limerick while the South West Region of Ireland takes in the counties of Cork and Kerry. The Shannon region is sometimes the first area of Ireland that visitors see when flying in to Shannon Airport but it is also home to Bunratty Castle, the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren and Limerick’s Hunt Museum just to name a few.
