Welcome to the Thatch Bar and Restaurant located in the village of Crinkill which is about 2 miles outside of Birr in Offaly. The Thatch Bar and Restaurant is one of the oldest pubs in Offaly and is owned and run by proprietor Des Connole and has been in the same family for over 200 years. Des himself is the fifth generation to run this old world bar and restaurant much to the delight of both locals and tourists. This pub has stood the test of time and comes complete with white washed walls and indeed as the name suggests a thatch roof. A thatched roof is unique in itself that it keeps a building cosy and warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

Our restaurant is open for Dinner and A La Carte nightly 6.30pm - 9.00pm.

Our Sunday Lunch is a treat.
Sittings: 12.30pm and 2.30pm. Children welcome.
Bar food served daily: 12.30pm - 4.00pm
Early bird menu served: Monday to Saturday: 5.00pm - 7.30pm
